Most profitable
What actually makes money, after cost of goods.
Biggest sellers
Most revenue. Rarely the same list as above.
Stock value by category
Where the money is sitting. Sorted by what it cost, not what it is ticketed at.
Biggest holdings
The products with the most money tied up in them.
Worth fixing
Not errors in this report — things in Square that make the value above less certain.
How customers paid
Card attracts Square's fee; cash does not.
Loyalty
The people you can actually reach, and what they are owed.
Square account
Trend
Profit against net sales. Bars are net sales; the line is profit.
Where the money went
Gross sales broken into what it was spent on, and what remained.
Operating expenses
Rent, salary and anything else Square never sees. Mark it recurring and it is counted every month automatically.
Timecard payments
How this list works
Who appears here is the Payee tick on each line in “Who counts as a labour cost” below.
It records what has actually been paid out, and when. It is measured against what the timecards accrued and is deliberately not added to the profit report, or the same wages would be counted twice.
Who counts as a labour cost
How the ticks work
Hours and wages come from Square timecards. A person who counts has their time included as a labour cost in the profit report. Unticking someone removes their cost from that figure, so the ticks are locked until you choose to change them. After a change, press Refresh on the dashboard to rebuild it.
Day by day
Every figure behind the dashboard. Loss-making days are tinted.
